Looking for a cycling club but feel like you might not be made welcome? Looking for a cycling club where every ride isn't a race? Looking for a cycling club that wants to help you get more out of your cycling?

Then Behind The Bikeshed Cycling Club is the club for you.

We run a varied programme of rides for both road and mountain bikes, details of which can be found on our Google calendar. All levels of rider are catered for, so use the calendar to check for suitable rides. We also have an ever increasing number of women cyclists; indeed we now offer a number of Ladies only rides. Please make sure that you come equipped to deal with punctures and you must wear a helmet to ride with us.

Club Rides 12th and 13th May

11/05/2012 12:39:33

At long last we have a good weather forecast for the weekend ahead. The usual easy Saturday ride goes ahead, leaving the shop at 9.30am. However we have amended the planned ride for Sunday. We thought that as everyone has been struggling to get out much over the past few weeks, we would take out a road ride that is suitable for all levels of rider. Whilst the pace and terrain will be moderate, we do intend the ride to be 40-50 miles in duration. This will give the opportunity for those preparing for longer events to get a decent ride in.  The last time we ran a ride like this we had a really good attendance – we therefore hope to see as many of you as possible out with us on Sunday. One important thing to note – the ride leaves the shop at 9.00am, we will not be meeting at Weyhill Church.

Club Rides And The Weather–26th April 2012

26/04/2012 17:59:32

The weather of the past few weeks has been playing havoc with our schedule of club rides. With more heavy showers forecast for Friday morning we have cancelled the scheduled Ladies ride. However Saturday morning looks more promising, so we hope to see plenty of you out for an easy road ride. Sunday’s planned trip to Swinley on Sunday is also in doubt – the weather is expected to be terrible. We will make a decision on this during Saturday. Hopefully things will improve soon as we have one of our major outings of the year on 6th May when we visit Afan Forest. Anyone wanting to go to Afan should contact the shop as we will be starting to make transport arrangements in the next few days.

Ladies Ride 18th April

18/04/2012 17:27:08

Sorry it’s short notice but we have decided to postpone tonight’s Ladies ride. We only had 3 out last week in slightly better conditions, so it’s unlikely anyone will want to go today. We’ll try again for next week.
