We are pleased to announce the formation of the Behind the Bikeshed Cycling Club.

Cycling is clearly a growing sport and we are serving many customers who are either returning to it after a time away or are getting on a bike for the first time in their adult life. Sometimes the encouragement and company of others can be a help when the going gets tough and the aim of the Club is to create a group of like minded individuals who want to ride together on a regular basis. Here are some of the things you need to know;

1. Membership is free. All we ask in return for your free membership is your e-mail address and a willingness on your part to accept our newsletter (due to be launched April/May 2010). The newsletter will update members of what is going on at the shop, new stock, offers etc. In addition we will feature news of our team riders and also give the details of any forthcoming rides and special events. The Newsletter will probably be monthly between April and September and then occasionally throughout the winter. Please note that we will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose than club/shop business, nor will we pass on your details to any third parties.
   
2. All riders are welcome, irrespective of age and ability. We do not intend the Club to be a competitive environment.
   
3. British Cycling is offering a limited number of free Bronze Memberships to new Club Members. Members can upgrade to gold and silver packages and receive the appropriate credit of the bonze membership. We strongly recommend this offer.
   
4. We hope in due course to have a specific member area on the website, which will have exclusive news and benefits.
   
5. Rides will be organised for all levels, both on and off road. If the members want a particular ride or time, we will do our best to accommodate it. Rides will generally be evenings and weekends but we will consider organising rides during the normal working week, school hours etc if there is the demand.
